Taylor Swift’s cat Meredith is officially the most popular moggy in the world. An image of the model and reality TV star posing with her hair forming several heart shapes was the year’s most popular photo on Instagram.
The defeat is impressive as Kardashian is the third most followed star on Instagram with 53.3 million followers – roughly 11 million more than Jenner. She holds up her high school diploma in the photo and gains 2.3 million votes in the process.
Cat pictures are a rage on social media.
Apart from the Jenner girls, Taylor Swift dominates the list with a total of 5 entries.
The list was rounded out by a mother-daughter shot of Beyoncé and Blue Ivy and a steamy sweatshirt selfie of Selena Gomez, both tied with 2.3 million likes. The winning pic from last year – of her and Kanye kissing on their wedding day – would have come in at ninth place in this year’s competition. Meridith effectively got 6.9 million likes on Instagram this year.
